Depiction of the Second Coming of Christ at Conques

In the center of the tympanum composition appears Christ in triumph, his right hand pointed upwards toward heaven, his left down towards earth, a gesture referring to his second coming (Parousia), and surrounded by a host of angels. Underneath the dead rise from their graves. The souls are being weighed by the Archangel Michael, while a grinning demon tries to influence the outcome.
