The Trevi Fountain. Rome's largest and most famous fountain, as massive as a two-storey building, designed by Nicola Salvi, was finished in 1762. Composer Ottorino Respighi used it to great effect as one of his tableaux in his "Fontane di Roma", but the fountain was immortalized following Federico Fellini's 1960 "La Dolce Vita."
