Pinturicchio's Saint Bernardino of Siena frescoes in the Bufalini Chapel, S. Maria in Aracoeli church (early 1480s). Shown here are the funeral of the saint (left, composed as to be seen from outside the chapel) and his glorification, appearing between saints Louis of Toulouse and Anthony of Padua in a deliciously developed landscape.
Pinturicchio (c. 1454-1513), (or Bernardino di Betti) was a painter from Perugia. His works in Rome can be seen also in the Vatican and in Santa Maria del Popolo. His major fresco cycle is however located in the Piccolomini library in Siena.
