Invalides

Napoleon's tomb in the Invalides church. Although he died in exile on St. Helena in 1821, the remains of the former emperor were returned to France in 1840 and laid to rest in the Invalides in 1861. The monumental tomb is made of red quartzite and rests on a base of green granite of the Vosges.
The blue chapel houses the tomb of Marshal Foch.
